Explain the Education and Cultural Co-operation among SAARC countries.


The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) is a regional intergovernmental organization comprising eight member states in South Asia. Education and cultural cooperation is one of the priority areas of SAARC, and the member states have taken various initiatives to promote and enhance cooperation in these areas. Some of the key initiatives in the field of education and cultural cooperation among SAARC countries are:


SAARC Regional Centre for Educational Innovation and Teacher Development (SARC-RCITD): This is a regional center established by SAARC in 2003 with the aim of promoting quality education and teacher development in the member states. The center conducts training programs and workshops for teachers, and also works on research and development of educational materials and resources.


SAARC Cultural Centre: This is a regional cultural center established by SAARC in 2003 with the aim of promoting cultural exchange and cooperation among the member states. The center organizes cultural events, exhibitions, and festivals, and also works on research and development of cultural resources and materials.


SAARC Cultural and Educational Information System (SCEIS): This is a regional database established by SAARC in 2003 with the aim of providing a platform for sharing and exchange of information on education and culture among the member states. The database includes information on educational institutions, cultural centers, and other relevant resources.


SAARC Cultural Festival: This is an annual event organized by SAARC with the aim of promoting cultural exchange and cooperation among the member states. The festival includes various cultural events such as music, dance, and theater performances, as well as exhibitions and workshops.


SAARC Cultural Scholarship Scheme: This is a scholarship scheme established by SAARC in 2003 with the aim of promoting cultural exchange and cooperation among the member states. The scheme provides financial assistance to individuals from the member states to pursue higher education or research in the fields of culture and arts.


SAARC Cultural Exchange Programme: This is a regional exchange program established by SAARC with the aim of promoting cultural exchange and cooperation among the member states. The program enables individuals from the member states to participate in cultural exchange activities such as workshops, seminars, and festivals.
